Heart Screening
All breeding cats prior to 1st mating at age 12 months old will be tested, then every 18-24 months the Echocardiogram will be redone.
Echocardiogram is a test to check physical condition of the heart valves, heart wall thickness, blood flow, any other anomalies.
Hip Evaluation
All Breeding cats are tested before mating.
Normal- Good hips, nil anomalies
Grade 1- Mildest form of Dysplasia
Grade 2- Moderate Dysplasia
Grade 3- Severe Dysplasia
DNA SCREENING
All breeding cats will be DNA tested before 1st mating.
A Full breed Profile should be complete.
SMA - Spinal muscular atrophy Musculoskeletal order
PkDef -Pyruvate kinase deficiency Blood disorder/ Anemia
HCM- Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (MYBPC3 gene) Cardiac disorder
PKD- Polycystic kidney Disease Renal Disorder
